
Marking Time in Place
This exhibit explores the various ways that time was delineated in medieval spaces through artistic works. Calendar images appeared in churches on floors, doorjambs, and windows. Clocks in churches and public plazas marked off the time of day. What do these artistic pieces reveal about the medieval thinking about time?
